WhatsApp has started working on a new subscription model to further customize its users' app experiences. This model will be offered under the name WhatsApp Plus and references similar paid versions of Instagram and Snapchat.
Personalization Options
The new subscription package offers users various personalization options such as custom chat themes, app icons, and ringtones. Additionally, there are functional innovations like increasing the number of pinned chats and creating custom chat lists.
Meta Platforms is currently testing this feature with a limited group of users and plans to develop it based on feedback. Although no official pricing has been announced yet, a charge of around 2.49 euros per month is being considered in Europe. Users are also expected to be offered a free trial option for the first month.
No Ad-Free Experience
On the other hand, a noteworthy point is that this new package does not offer an ad-free experience. WhatsApp's announcement last year
