Operating in the field of autonomous aircraft, Kelluu has obtained 15 million euros in funding during a new investment round. The leader of this significant investment was the NATO Innovation Fund.
Usage Areas of the Investment
With this funding, Kelluu plans to expand its fleet of autonomous airships and strengthen its existing technological infrastructure. Additionally, it will further develop its AI-supported data analysis system.
The Company’s Vision and Technology
Founded in 2018 by Janne Hietala, Jouni Lintu, and Jiri Jormakka, Kelluu designs and operates hydrogen-powered unmanned airships. These aircraft are ideal for long-term surveillance and data collection activities over large areas.
Kelluu’s system offers continuous monitoring by combining the wide coverage of satellites with the detailed imaging capabilities of drones. The company not only focuses on hardware production but also develops AI and geographic data platforms to analyze the collected data. This technology is used in defense as well as in civil applications such as forestry, climate research, and smart cities.
