The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) has made an important decision regarding the activities of TURK Elektronik Para A.Ş., known as Param. According to the company's statement, permissions granted for certain payment services and electronic money issuance under the Law No. 6493 have been temporarily suspended.
Scope of Service Suspension
This suspension includes certain payment services defined in paragraphs (b) and (c) of Article 12 of the Law, as well as electronic money issuance under Article 18. However, it was stated that other services listed in paragraphs (a), (ç), (e), (f), and (g) of the same Law will continue to be provided, and the company's license in these areas remains valid.
The updated list on TCMB's official website also shows that there are restrictions on certain activities of TURK Elektronik Para A.Ş. The company emphasized that all transactions are secure and that the decision only affects TURK Elektronik Para A.Ş., with no impact on other companies within the group.
Additionally, it was stated that processes related to the suspended services are being conducted with consumer rights in mind. Information was provided that support teams are ready at any moment to address potential issues. The company also announced that it has initiated legal proceedings and will continue to share developments with the public.
