Details of the New Strategies
Among the announced strategies, tax advantages for software and engineering services offered abroad stand out. Additionally, important changes include the encouragement of rapid company establishment with the definition of 'digital company', enhanced incentives for employee stock options, and convertible debt mechanisms. These regulations are expected to facilitate access to financing for startups.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that these steps aim to position Turkey as a central hub in global technology entrepreneurship. It was noted that increasing the speed of transactions, especially in early-stage investments, is a key goal.
President Erdoğan emphasized that tax advantages will be expanded at the Istanbul Finance Center. He announced that the current corporate tax rates will be reduced to 9% for manufacturing exporters and 14% for general exporters. This will encourage international companies to establish their regional management centers in Turkey.
Terminal Istanbul Project
Additionally, the Terminal Istanbul project, which involves restructuring the old terminal buildings at Atatürk Airport as a technopark, is among the noteworthy elements. This project is designed to host thousands of technology startups and is planned to include a wide range of activities from incubation programs to software schools.
In his speech, Erdoğan highlighted the purpose of the new strategies by stating, "We are accelerating company establishment processes with the digital company application."
